The UF Online Bachelor of Science in Media Production, Management, and Technology equips students who are interested in studying traditional and digital media and their effect on society with strong communication and analytical skills. This provides the necessary foundation for law school, graduate study, and the key stepping stone to media and communications careers in areas such as sports, health, environment, politics, international communication or the corporate world.
Media Production, Management, and Technology at the University of Florida is one of the country’s premiere online programs in electronic mass media. Media and Society as a specialization focuses on the theories, methods and techniques used to play, produce and distribute audio and video programs and messages; personnel and facilities management; marketing and distribution; media regulations, law and policy; and principles of broadcast technology. It prepares graduates to work in media organizations and those organizations that use electronic media, such as political campaigns, government, education and business.
Our program is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) and offers an excellent education in electronic mass media.

Admissions Requirements
- If you have 0-11 transferable college credits, review the Freshman admissions requirements.
- If you have 12-59 transferable credits, review the Lower Division Transfer admission requirements.
Upper division transfer applicants (students with 60 or more college credits earned) and Second Bachelor’s degree seeking applicants should have at least a 2.0 overall GPA and completed the following 5 prerequisite courses with at least a 2.0 GPA. To be competitive for admission, applicants should have a minimum 2.5 or higher overall GPA.
- Argument and Persuasion (ENC 1102)
- American History since 1877 (AMH 2020)
- American Federal Government (POS 2041)
- Introduction to Statistics (STA 2023)
- Principles of Macroeconomics (ECO 2013)
Note: Principles of Microeconomics (ECO 2023) may be substituted for ECO 2013.
