Student Engagement
UF Online hosts a variety of activities to engage and connect with online students. We host regular events in Gainesville, like a tailgate at Homecoming, and events, like networking receptions, outside of Gainesville. Additionally, through Gator Clubs around the world you can interact with the Gator Nation. Online does not mean solitary as Florida Gators are known for being social creatures.
Gator Clubs to Connect with Nationwide
The Gator Nation is everywhere, with more than 400,000 alumni and 100 Gator Clubs around the world. Online students get a special membership rate and can enjoy a variety of club activites. From networking events to football and basketball viewing parties, Gator Clubs provide opportunities for socializing, networking and fun.

The UF Online Student Plaza is your 24/7 virtual campus to connect and network with your fellow classmates, advisors, faculty and staff. Use the app to stay mobile as you easily post questions, start conversations, and engage with groups you follow in the Plaza. Customize your notifications to help keep you up to date and never miss out on what interests you.

Optional Fee Package
For online students that live in or frequent the Gainesville area, you can opt-in to the Optional Fee Package to have access to the same services as your on campus counterparts. The fee package gives you access to a wide variety of student activities like the fitness center, the health center, student prices for athletic events and transportation around Gainesville.

Sports
The Gator Nation is well-known for the success of its sports teams. From football and basketball to gymnastics and baseball, the Gators are often the team to beat. UF Online students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in athletic events no matter where they live. You are eligible to sit in student sections for any event (note to get student ticket pricing you need to opt into the Optional Fee Package). Outside of Gainesville you can attend viewing parties, tailgates and other activities hosted by your local Gator Club.
UF Libraries
As a Research I level institution, UF students have access to a vast array of information. The UF Libraries contain the most comprehensive knowledge resource system in the state of Florida and crosses all disciplines in every format -- with a large portion of materials available online. Additionally, there is an experienced and knowledgable staff of librarians and researchers who specialize by college/major that are available to assist and guide you in taking advantage of this expansive resource.
