Computer science is a field with varied job prospects, including business analyst, software engineer, researcher, programmer and computer systems analyst. That’s why our Online Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program gives students the freedom to tailor their curriculum to their interests, skills and academic strengths.

Our curriculum provides a foundation in computer science while also offering a strong liberal arts education with courses from the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and foreign languages.


What are the criteria for competitive transfer applicants?

Lower Division Applicants

Applicants with 12-59 hours of transferrable college credit

Competitive lower division applicants should have at least a 2.5 overall GPA and satisfactory completed the below course:

  • Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1 (MAC 2311)

Upper Division Applicants

Applicants with 60 or more hours of transferrable college credit

Competitive upper division applicants should have at least a 2.5 overall GPA and have completed the below courses with at least a 2.5 GPA:

  • Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1 (MAC 2311)
  • Analytic Geometry and Calculus 2 (MAC 2312)
  • Analytic Geometry and Calculus 3 (MAC 2313)
  • Physics 1 w/lab (PHY 2053) or Physics with Calculus 1 w/ lab (PHY 2048)

Students are also strongly encouraged to complete Physics 2 w/ lab (PHY 2054 or PHY 2049) and a course in Java Programming before applying.

  • All courses taken to meet Competitive Admissions Criteria must be completed with a grade of C or better.
  • Unsuccessful attempts in courses taken to meet Competitive Admissions Criteria may lower competitiveness.
  • Unsuccessful attempts in additional courses in the desired major may lower competitiveness.
  • Out of state courses used to meet Competitive Admissions Criteria may need to be evaluated by the appropriate department upon admission.
