UF’s RN to BSN degree is taught 100% online. How does that work? By using expertly designed courses, UF nursing professors teach students about the latest strategies, policies, and technology used in today’s ever-changing health field. There are two courses in the program that require clinical components. These can be completed through online activities or in your local community.

Admissions Criteria

The UF Online RN to BSN major accepts new applicants twice a year for the spring and fall semesters. In order to be considered for admission into this program, you’ll need:

  • An associate’s degree in nursing from an NLNAC or ACEN accredited program
  • 2.8 or higher GPA in all professional nursing coursework
  • Active, unencumbered Florida RN license OR enhanced licensure through the Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) by the file completion deadline
  • Proof of enrollment or completion of prerequisite courses

How do clinicals work?

RN-BSN students will complete 90 combined clinical hours, with half of these hours being completed through a clinical project based on informal observations of the community.

Through top-notch simulation technology provided by Shadow Health, RN to BSN students will participate in virtual clinical hours to develop key skills they will apply throughout their careers, such as data gathering and interpretation.
