UF Online’s Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program provides students with a broad, science-based liberal arts education that explores psychology from both natural and social science perspectives.

Through the study of psychology, students will explore matters of the mind through an interdisciplinary approach that helps them understand biological bases of behavior and mental processes, developmental changes across the lifespan, learning and cognition, and sociocultural approaches and influences. The Psychology department firmly believes that excellence is best promoted by recruiting and retaining diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff and by ensuring that the department’s culture is supportive and respectful of all members.

Our bachelor’s in psychology prepares students for a wide range of careers in areas such as education, personnel management, business and marketing, health care and counseling as well as for graduate and professional programs, whether it’s to continue their studies in psychology or another field such as law.

The online psychology degree requires coursework in psychology, statistics, mathematics and biology. Courses are required in four core areas within the discipline as well as elective psychology courses. This equates to UF Psychology graduates that are prepared for a wide array of related careers, as well as graduate school.

Admissions Requirements

Upper division transfer applicants (students with 60 or more college credits earned) and Second Bachelor’s degree seeking applicants should have at least a 2.75 overall GPA and all the below courses completed with at least a 2.75 GPA:

Required:

  • Biological Sciences (BSC 2005/2009) OR Biology 1 (BSC 2010)
  • General Psychology (PSY 2012)
  • Pre-calculus: Algebra and Trigonometry (MAC 1147) OR Pre-calculus Algebra (MAC 1140) and Trigonometry (MAC 1114)
  • Introduction to Statistics 1 (STA 2023)

  • All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
  • Unsuccessful attempts in prerequisite courses may lower competitiveness.
  • Unsuccessful attempts in additional courses in the desired major may lower competitiveness.
