In addition to completing all university, college and general degree requirements, students enrolled in the Environmental Management program will have the opportunity to take a number of core courses, including Natural Resource Policy and Economics, Environmental Nutrient Management and Environmental Biogeochemistry along with several approved electives such as Economics, The World of Water and Environmental Monitoring Techniques.

Admissions Requirements
- If you have 0-11 transferable college credits, review the Freshman admissions requirements.
- If you have 12-59 transferable credits, review the Lower Division Transfer admission requirements.
Upper division transfer applicants (students with 60 or more college credits earned) and Second Bachelor’s degree seeking applicants should have at least a 2.0 overall GPA and completed all the ‘required’ prerequisite courses below and at least one of the ‘recommended’ courses prerequisite courses listed below with at least a 2.0 GPA:
*Required courses:
- General Chemistry 1 and Lab (CHM 2045 & 2045L)
- General Chemistry 2 and Lab (CHM 2046 & 2046L)
- Survey of Calculus 1 (MAC 2233)
*At least 1 of the following recommended courses:
- Introduction to Statistics 1 (STA 2023)
- Introduction to Public Speaking (SPC 2608)
- Biological Sciences and Lab (BSC 2005 & 2005L)
OR
General Biology 1 and Lab (BSC 2010 & 2010L)
*Note:
- All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
- Unsuccessful attempts in prerequisite courses may lower competitiveness.
- Unsuccessful attempts in additional courses in the desired major may lower competitiveness.
- Out of state courses used to meet prerequisites may need to be evaluated by the appropriate department upon admission.
Additional Admissions Pathways
Applicants may be conditionally admitted to the program if they have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and have satisfactorily completed 3 of the 4 prerequisites, including all of the required courses listed above. Students who are conditionally admitted will be required to successfully complete any missing courses by the end of their first year of enrollment in the degree program.
Is there an in-person requirement?
Admitted freshman and lower division transfer students may register for their required chemistry lecture courses (CHM2045 and CHM2046) separately from their required chemistry labs (CHM2045L and CHM2046L). UF lecture courses are fully-online, whereas the UF labs are on campus (Gainesville, Florida) in a “bootcamp” format. For students unable to attend the “bootcamp” lab at UF, other options can be approved by the college. Specifically, this requirement can be completed through transient enrollment at a local state or community college either in face to face, hybrid “bootcamp”, or fully-online formats. Students will work with their CALS academic advisor to determine and plan for the format best for them.
