University of Florida to Host Conference Dedicated to Online Learning in Orlando, Fla.

The University of Florida will host the first Intersections: Online Learning + Innovation in Higher Education conference, Feb. 19-21, 2025, at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs in Orlando, Fla. This conference is curated for higher education leaders, faculty, instructional designers, advisors, and education partners to discuss and explore new solutions in the rapidly evolving field of online learning. Early bird registration for the conference is open through Dec. 6, and proposals are accepted through Dec. 13.  

As universities face the complex challenges of today’s educational landscape,Intersectionswill provide a forum for educator professionals, from administrators to advisors, to share strategies to enhance student experience, strengthen institutional support, and drive innovation. Attendees can join sessions focusing on the role of AI in education, leadership for digital transformation, innovative course design, and aligning academic programs with workforce needs. 

Keynote speakers for the event include Matthew Rascoff, Vice Provost for Digital Education at Stanford University, and Tom Cavanagh, Vice Provost for Digital Learning at the University of Central Florida. These experts bring rich experience and insight into the state and future of digital learning, setting the stage for discussions that will inspire and inform. Conference sessions will be held in the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs resort, with concurrent sessions split among multiple breakout rooms.
