Early Childhood Studies

Minor

The Early Childhood Studies minor offers a multidisciplinary perspective on supporting young children’s development, learning, and well-being from birth to age 5. This minor explores the intersections of early care and education, health/mental health, and family support systems. The scope of courses explores the science, policy, and implementation of practices to support early development, learning, health, and wellbeing from child- and family-centered equity perspectives.

A minor will add an extra set of skills to your career ambitions, such as learning the fundamentals of early childhood studies. By declaring a minor, you can set yourself apart when applying to graduate schools or pursuing careers in education, public health, social work, and related fields. Whether you choose to do a minor to complement your degree or optimize your education, a minor will provide additional value.
