Why an Online Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration?

The UF Online Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration allows students to establish a firm foundation in business principles and then pair it with an additional skill set in a specialized area.

Students earning this degree will learn from some of the nation’s top professors, and will be well-prepared for a wide array of business-related careers or to go on to graduate studies in business. The same world-renowned faculty that teach on campus, teach online as well -- allowing online students to earn the same degree as their on campus counterparts.

Students take introductory courses in accounting and economics as well as core courses in areas ranging from business law and international business to finance, management and marketing. Once the core business foundation is set, students can then choose from one of the following eight specializations:

  • Anthropology
  • Business and Economic Geography
  • Educational Studies
  • General Business
  • Geology
  • Mass Communication
  • Sociology
  • Sport Management

The 2017 U.S. News and World Report rankings of Best Undergraduate Business Programs placed the Heavener School of Business in the top 20 among public universities. What is the difference between the BSBA and the BABA in Business Administration at UF Online?

While both programs offer access to the same world-renowned business faculty and career management team, there are differences between the programs.

  • The BSBA allows students to take a deep dive into the business curriculum. Students can focus more on business disciplines like entrepreneurship, real estate, finance and marketing.
  • The BABA allows more flexibility and allows students to pair their business knowledge with outside areas that align with different industries, more easily include minors in their course of study, and take courses that might be needed for graduate school in certain specialties.

Additionally, graduates of either program are eligible for one of UF MBA’s 16-month accelerated programs designed specifically for business undergraduate majors. UF MBA’s online program has consistently been ranked one of the world’s best. In 2016, the Financial Times ranked the program #1 in the US and #3 in the world.
